Siskin Hospital awarded multiple Center of Excellence Designations from the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ)
Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation has been awarded the Center of Excellence Designation in both Rehabilitation Care and Stroke Care by CIHQ after its recent survey of the facility. In addition, Siskin Hospital’s status as a CIHQ accredited hospital was renewed. Both demonstrate the hospital’s continuous commitment to the safety of patients and associates, as well as providing excellent care and service.
During the recent assessment, CIHQ surveyors evaluated Siskin Hospital’s compliance with evidence-based standards of care. The survey was unannounced and included medical record review, patient care observations, and interviews with both patients and hospital associates.
“These achievements are a direct result of the dedication, expertise, and commitment demonstrated by our team every day,” said Matthew A. Gibson, Ph.D., FACHE, President and CEO of Siskin Hospital. “I am proud to be working alongside a team that believes in our organization’s vision: to be THE choice for physical rehabilitation.”
“CIHQ commends Siskin Hospital on their achievement of this designation and hospital accreditation. This designation recognizes hospitals that demonstrate excellence in care and services provided to their communities.” states Richard Curtis, Chief Executive Officer of CIHQ.
Siskin Hospital remains the only physical rehabilitation facility in the region to hold accreditation from not only CIHQ but also from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The hospital also holds specialty certifications in both Stroke Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Rehabilitation from CARF. Siskin Subacute West, the organization’s skilled nursing facility, holds certifications in stroke rehabilitation and heart failure programs from the American Heart Association.
