Aquatic Therapy

The Aquatic Therapy Program at Siskin Hospital employs aquatic therapy techniques that use the water’s buoyancy to improve range of motion, endurance, strength and confidence for patients with injuries.

The Aquatic Therapy Program is implemented by a trained aquatic therapy specialist and may be part of a program of healing, maintaining or improving.

Types of aquatic therapy:

With Bad Ragaz therapy, the patient lies horizontally in the water, supported by flotation devices. A therapist demonstrates movement patterns for the patient to copy under their supervision.

The Watsu therapy is a hands-on technique that uses rhythmical movements and the water’s resistance to stretch muscles. The patient is supported by the therapist and is passive as the therapist stabilizes and moves the patient.
