Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - PRN (Inpatient & Outpatient positions)

Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is seeking PRN Speech Language Pathologists for our Inpatient and Outpatient programs. We are looking for individuals with a flexible schedule, who desire to serve on a team dedicated to quality patient care.

 

We have a large department of SLPs who enjoy collaborating and working together to make sure we provide the best patient care possible across the continuum. Our PRN staff serve patients on our inpatient rehabilitation units, subacute units, and in our outpatient program (downtown Chattanooga, Cleveland, Hixson, and East Brainerd). The speech-language pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders as needed (PRN Status). (S)he is responsible for inpatient, outpatient (on and offsite), subacute and services as assigned. (S)he is expected to assist in general program development and to be actively involved in continuing education. In addition, (s)he is responsible for knowing and adhering to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures and the standards outlined in the Code of Ethics of ASHA. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS

 

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in communication disorders.

  • Employment and/or externship experience in adult rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.

  • Licensure/Certification: Eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year or

  • Certificate of Clinical competence (CCC) from ASHA

  • Hold or eligible for Tennessee license in Speech-Language Pathology

  • CPR Certification through American Heart Association

Skills/Competencies:

  • Must demonstrate good judgment and appropriate respect for persons with a variety of disabilities and challenging behaviors. Must meet competency requirements during the first 30 days of employment for the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, cognition, and dysphagia. May be required to meet other competency requirements such as interpretation of modified barium/video fluoroscopic swallow function studies.
