Speech Language Pathologist - Full-time, Ringold & East Brainerd locations


Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is seeking an outpatient Speech Language Pathologist. This position will be a 40-hour full-time, salaried position. We are looking for individuals who desire to serve on a multidisciplinary team dedicated to quality patient care. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS (education, experience, licensure, certification, and/or specific skills) *time frame for proficiency where appropriate

 

Education:
Master’s degree or higher in communication disorders.

 

Experience:

Experience in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients with dysphagia and neurogenic communication/cognitive disorders is required. Any additional experience with voice, brain injury, LSVT training, and/or laryngectomy would be a plus. Applicants must hold a current Tennessee SLP license or be eligible for a Tennessee license. Clinical fellows who have a strong background with adults in their graduate clinical placements will also be considered.

 

Licensure/Certification:

Eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year or Certificate of Clinical competence (CCC) from ASHA;
Hold or eligible for Tennessee & Georgia licenses in Speech-Language Pathology;
CPR Certification through American Heart Association

 

Skills/Competencies:
Must demonstrate good judgment and appropriate respect for persons with a variety of disabilities and challenging behaviors. Must meet competency requirements during the first 30 days of employment for the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, cognition, and dysphagia. May be required to meet other competency requirements such as interpretation of modified barium/videofluoroscopic swallow function studies.
