Siskin Hospital welcomes new Assistant Chief Nursing Officer

Shea Popo, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CRRN, has been appointed as Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation’s assistant chief nursing officer.

With almost two decades of hands-on and nursing management experience, including several years of rehabilitation nursing, Popo brings a wide variety of expertise and knowledge to her new role.

“This position allows me to come back to my roots and love of rehabilitation nursing. I am excited to learn more about the organization and see how together we can provide even higher levels of excellent patient care,” said Popo.

Most recently, Popo served as the director of nursing at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, located in Chicago, Illinois, where she oversaw multiple medical floors, dialysis unit, nursing operations, and the critical care department. She holds a doctorate in nursing practice and nursing executive leadership from Chamberlain University, an MSN from Benedictine University, and a BSN from Saint Xavier University. Additionally, she holds multiple certifications including Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and advanced board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

“Her passion for rehabilitation nursing is evident and I believe she truly understands the mission of Siskin Hospital: to instill hope and transform lives,” said Tracy Reed, DNP, MBA, RN, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer of Siskin Hospital.

New to the Chattanooga community, Popo is looking forward to immersing herself in the culture of not only Siskin Hospital, but also the Southeastern region.
