Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician
Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation, Tennessee’s largest, freestanding, private, not for profit Rehabilitation Hospital is searching for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Patient Care Techs (PCT) to add to our award-winning team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other licensed personnel, our CNAs and PCTs provide direct and indirect care to a wide range of patients based on the patient’s written plan of care and physician order. The CNA or PCT will be flexible and able to work as assigned to central units, the Protective Care Unit, or as an additional companion for patients requiring constant monitoring.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS -
Education:
High school degree or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of (1) year healthcare experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
For CNA - Certification as a nurse assistant by a Tennessee accredited program or verified work history as a nurse assistant prior to the Tennessee certification requirement becoming effective.
Obtains current CPR certification and maintains throughout employment.
Skills/Competencies:
Working knowledge of:
Measurement of BP, Pulse, Respirations, Temp (Axillary, Oral, Rectal), Weights, I&O.
Hygiene and skin care.
Frequently used patient care and safety equipment.
Frequently performed procedures such as patient transfer, positioning, etc.
Nutrition and feeding.
Demonstrates initial and ongoing competencies with additional training prior to performing tasks.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to:
Work 12-hour shifts with overtime as required.
Stand 40-60% of a 12-hour shift
Lift and or carry objects weighing 6-26 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis, up to 60 feet. Objects will be picked up from floor level up to 72 inches.
Push and/or pull objects requiring 6.5-70 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
Balance and stoop on a frequent basis.
Kneel, crouch and crawl on an occasional basis.
Reach on a frequent basis and handle and finger objects on an occasional basis.
Complete the “Essential Functions” of the CNA position and comply with all occupational health training, education and procedures.
