Siskin Subacute West receives two American Heart Association certifications
Siskin Subacute West has received certification in stroke rehabilitation and heart failure programs from the American Heart Association, making it the first skilled nursing facility in the state and only the second in the nation to be certified for both programs.
The Association’s certifications further signifies Siskin Subacute West’s dedication to improving the quality of life and outcomes for all patients. The subacute program is uniquely designed to provide patients with an interdisciplinary therapy plan that is less intensive than traditional comprehensive inpatient treatment.
“We want to be trailblazers in the skilled nursing field and continue to use innovative methods to give our patients the best care,” said Ariel Ketchersid, facility administrator. “The American Heart Association has armed us with additional tools and acknowledged our success. It is an honor to have our organization recognized in this way.”
The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization devoted to cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Facilities must go through a rigorous evaluation process validating adherence to Association standards, program management, patient education, care coordination and clinical management.
