JOB SUMMARY:
Consistently act in the best interest of Siskin Hospital. Provide a secure environment which ensures the safety of patients, associates, visitors and hospital property. Controlling access to and egress from sensitive areas. Positive outlook, who are direct, truthful and non-manipulative. React quickly and calmly in emergency situations, to determine proper course of action by exercising good judgement.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY / LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY / REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS / IDENTIFICATION OF WORK TEAM:
Reporting to Director of Facilities, working with other security officer, team approach to solving problems that may arise during your shift, no direct supervisory responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education:
High School or equivalent
Experience:
Security or on-the-job training provided.
At least one year of security experience preferred.
Must be 21 years old.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license.
Security Licensure Certification
Skills/Competencies:
Ability to meet people and adaptability.
Communications skills, speaking, listening and observing.
Understanding of procedures and following instructions either written or verbal.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have excellent emotional control and be free of physical conditions or limitations, which would increase the likelihood of serious injury.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to abnormal hazards, such as personal assault, exposure to disease bearing persons, and the unidentified hazards of having to respond to any type of emergency situation either natural or contrived. The job will require exposure to climatic conditions to include periods of severe weather. Must be able to respond to all types of emergencies, without prior warning. Some situations may require the ability to protect their person from premeditated physical attack.
