Specialty Fitness Programs and Services

People with disabilities or other special needs often do not feel comfortable in fitness centers that cater primarily to able-bodied people.

That is why the Siskin Health & Fitness Center was specifically designed to focus on serving people with disabilities, people who wish to maintain or improve function gained from physical therapy, and people who may be concerned about maintaining their independence, health and fitness as they age.

Featured Specialty Programs and Services at The Siskin Health & Fitness Center

Cancer FIT

The Siskin Health and Fitness Center Cancer Fit Program encourage you to participate in a 12-week supervised exercise program tailored to individual needs for people at any stage of their cancer diagnosis. Our Certified Cancer Exercise Trainers design a program allowing you to modify your exercise plan to meet your specific needs. According to research, exercise during and after cancer treatments reduces the negative effects treatment may cause, reduces fatigue, increases energy end emotional well-being, and prevents unwanted weight loss or gain. Let us join you on this health-strengthening journey through your treatment regimen.

Program benefits include:

  • Initial fitness assessment to measure current ability
  • Continuation of fitness assessment to track progress and new exercises
  • Improved balance, increased strength and mobility
  • Motivational support working in a group environment

The Siskin Health and Fitness Center Next Step Program is for those who have experienced challenges with musculoskeletal or neurological conditions or functional limitations due to an injury. Our certified professionals will design an individualized program that will create your Next Step following completion of physical therapy treatment. This is a supervised program that will keep you on track to full recovery while decreasing your risk of re-injury.

The Next Step Program meets every:

  • Monday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Healthy Heart

The Heart Health Program is a supervised program designed for those who have completed cardiac rehab; have known risks for heart disease or other heart related issues; or those simply wanting to improve their overall health. With supervision under Certified Exercise Specialists, this program will focus on movements to improve cardiac function, muscle strength, flexibility and recovery. Participants will also learn how to eat healthy, manage stress and develop other positive habits for permanent lifestyle change, with a goal of reducing or preventing the risk of a future cardiac event. If at any point a medical concern were to arise, our nurses and other clinical staff are located on site for urgent response.

  • Developing independence to perform daily activities
  • Daily blood pressure tracking to report to your physician for reduced medication
  • Increasing quality of life and longevity
  • Motivational support working in a group environment

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy, including clinical and relaxation massages, are available to members and non-members by a licensed massage therapist.

Swedish Relaxation Massage

This system of long strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles is designed primarily to stimulate circulation, ease muscle tension, improve flexibility, and promote relaxation.

Relaxation Massages:
30 Minutes- $30 (members) and $35 (non-members)
60 Minutes- $55 (members) and $60 (non-members)
90 Minutes- $80 (members) and $85 (non-members)

Clinical Massage

This method involves assessing each client’s individual needs to aide in alleviating pain, increasing functional abilities, and increasing activities of daily living. Needs are then addressed through a variety of techniques, such as myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and trigger point therapy.
Clinical Massages: $20 per 15-minute unit.

Chair Massage

This Massage Therapy is provided to a client sitting in a portable massage chair. The client remains fully clothed and no oils are used while their shoulders, neck, upper back, head, and arms are massaged.
Chair Massages: $1 per minute.

**Please Note: The “member” pricing rate is available to all Siskin Health & Fitness Center members, Siskin Hospital employees, and patients of the hospital or its clinics.
