____________________________________ Seated Tai Chi is an introductory, low-intensity class that uses developed movements to increase muscular strength, tone, balance, and control. The class focuses on breath control and moving mediation. Learn more about the Tai Chi Program This class blends Pilates exercises/techniques with yoga poses to improve core strength, balance, and flexibility. Focus is on alignment and breath to promote muscle control and coordination in order to strengthen, lengthen, and tone. This class is designed to be adaptive for all levels of yoga interests and focuses on stretching and relaxation techniques for the mind and body. This medium- to high-intensity class can be performed from a chair or yoga ball. This class is designed to improve strength throughout your body by using the CorePole and other core strengthening techniques that involve variable resistance bands to help the whole body. This class is a mind-body practice of static postures, body movement, diaphragmatic breathing and focused intention of the mind designed to improve mental and physical health. It helps to cultivate and generate a biological energy know as qi or chi. This class is a great way to target your abs with a variety of exercises. Burn fat and trim inches on your waist with this upbeat class! This class focuses on arm exercises using free weights. The Strength Training class will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your upper body. This class offers a full body workout that targets all of the major muscle groups, including the integration of strength and stretching exercises. View the 2019 Group Training Schedule. The Siskin Health & Fitness Center’s variety of pool exercise options are a fun way to get a great workout while benefitting from the weightless feeling of the water. For anyone who may have joint problems, this greatly reduces the stress placed on joints during a traditional workout. Bring your swimsuit and enjoy a workout in the water! The Exercise Pool can be used for swimming or walking laps, as well as for group aquatic classes. It features several depth levels to allow for differing heights. The large Whirlpool is perfect for loosening up or relaxing after a good workout. This is a medium-intensity class that is performed in the pool. This class uses the resistance of the water, along with pool weights, to increase heart rate and tone the body. This class is perfect for those who have had a hard time exercising on the land and is great for everybody! This low-impact water class combines techniques to improve balance, strength, flexibility, and relaxation. This meets only during the allotted time period and is by prescription order only. Aqua Pilates is Pilates movements moved into the water environment. The water increases resistance of the movements, enhancing benefits for your muscles and protecting the joints. Unlike land-based classes, it is done standing up and using noodles along with other water exercise equipment to enhance the experience. This class will help enhance muscle definition, balance, and coordination while reducing joint soreness. Join us for a fun way to exercise in the pool – group volleyball!
