Physical Therapy at Siskin Hospital primarily works to improve the patient’s strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and balance through evaluations and physical interventions in order to promote mobility, functional ability, and quality of life following an injury or disease process.
The Physical Therapist will develop a comprehensive treatment plan after a patient evaluation based on patient goals and needs.
The personalized treatment plan may include techniques in manual therapy, functional exercises, use of electrical modalities, therapeutic activities, neurodevelopmental techniques, and pool therapy.
Physical Therapists will work with each patient to assess the need for specialized equipment that will give the patient maximum mobility and independence. Physical Therapists also assist with patient and caregiver education and training to assure safety in handling the patient’s limited mobility and understanding of potential physical progress.
