Inpatient Rehabilitation

Inpatient Rehabilitation at Siskin Hospital couples intensive therapy with high levels of medical and nursing care in order to help patients maximize recovery of independence in daily functioning.

Siskin Hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation Program provides 24-hour medical and nursing management and uses a comprehensive, transdisciplinary approach to establish long- and short-term goals specific to each patient and diagnosis.

The most common reasons why patients are admitted to a rehabilitation hospital include injuries, illnesses, or complications from:

  • Stroke
  • Brain Injury
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Neuromuscular Disorders, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, or Guillain-Barré Sydrome
  • Amputation
  • Musculoskeletal Conditions including multiple fractures, major trauma, and bi-lateral joint replacements

Patients with these types of conditions frequently experience changes in physical function and mobility, speech and cognition, behavior and emotions, as well as personal independence, including basic self care skills.

Siskin Hospital's team of dedicated rehabilitation professionals are ready to work with patients and their families through a variety of physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies. The caring staff will help optimize recoveries and prepare patients to return home to their families, as well as to work, school, or pursue other enjoyable activities.

Individualized Plan of Care

While at Siskin Hospital, your rehabilitation team will collaborate with you to establish YOUR rehabilitation goals. You'll have an individual plan of care to insure your specific functional needs are addressed and met during your stay.

Your care is led by a physiatrist – a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Learn more about Siskin Hospital's expert team of Physiatrists.

Your Physiatrist will guide a team of experts including rehabilitation nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, nutritionists, case managers, and a variety of other clinical staff. Together this team works with each patient and their family member to provide the most comprehensive rehabilitation care possible.

Our purpose is to help patients reach and surpass their goals for therapy. That is why we conduct frequent evaluations and make adjustments to the therapy plans and goals as you progress.

Typically, inpatient therapy consists of at least three of therapy per day during the week and two to four hours of treatment on Saturday. Learn more about a patient's typical day at Siskin Hospital.
