Because of Siskin Hospital, I can make memories.
- Vicky Lay
Vicky Lay was a doting grandmother who loved having fun with her grandchildren when a sudden stroke threatened to take those priceless moments away. The effects of the stroke left her unable to walk, use her right arm, or speak without difficulty. After spending countless hours making cookies, giving hugs, and enjoying being an active part of her grandchildren's day-to-day lives, Vicky was now afraid she might lose this precious time.
However, upon meeting her therapy team at Siskin Hospital, Vicky's fears began to vanish. "I loved my therapists, and they worked so hard to help me regain my movement and abilities. Whatever my specific problem might be, they developed a personalized strategy to solve it." After 17 days of inpatient therapy, Vicky was able to walk out of Siskin Hospital and return to the role that means the world to her . . . being "Mimi!"
Today she continues outpatient treatment at Siskin Hospital's Cleveland location, enjoys life and an adorable new grandson, and looks forward to many more years of making holiday memories with them all. Because as every grandmother knows, there is nothing on earth quite as special as a grandchild.
Because of Siskin Hospital, I CAN.
