Nurse Residency Program
If you are a recent RN or LPN graduate that is interested in a TRANSITION TO PRACTICE program, the Nurse Residency Program is for you!
We will match up the theory you have learned with actual practice in a rehabilitation setting.
Content of Program:
- One week hospital and nursing orientation
- One week rotation through each of the five units (Ortho, Stroke, Brain Injury, Medical and Sub Acute)
- Match day assigns each resident to a unit and a shift.
- 8-12 weeks with a preceptor before being counted in staffing.
- Eight monthly seminars.

Eligible applicants: Diploma LPN, Associate degree LPN, Associate degree RN, or Bachelor degree RN that has graduated from an accredited school of nursing program and has less than one year experience.
Requirements: Participants will be required to sign a commitment contract and agree to adhere to the required educational activities during the program.
Details: Two-year commitment from hire with a payback required if commitment is not fulfilled.
Two yearly cohorts are available: Winter and Summer. Each cohort is limited to six participants.
Program goals are to provide educational support to the new nurse graduate in three main areas - leadership, patient outcomes, and role and responsibilities of the professional nurse.
