Director of Nursing, Subacute
Performs all functions necessary to maintain daily operation of the program, including working jointly with the Administrator and other Siskin Hospital departments on admissions and intake, scheduling, delivery of care, documentation of services, and program development to ensure that high quality services are provided. Is responsible and accountable for the financial performance of the nursing department and ensuring that all ongoing clinical operations are maintained within established budgetary guidelines.
Scope of Authority / Leadership Responsibility / Reporting Relationships / Identification of Work Team
Partners with the Subacute Administrator to provide on-site management for all aspects of the subacute program. Works with department directors at SHPR to resolve performance issues as they arise. Makes fiscal decisions within established budget and business plan. Reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services for all daily operating and management decisions. Works collaboratively with all involved clinical managers to ensure smooth operation of the subacute program.

Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Nursing, healthcare, or a business related field preferred.
Minimum of five years experience in healthcare; Prior experience in a physical rehabilitation setting preferred; prior management experience and direct fiscal responsibility required.
Current Tennessee licensure as a Registered Nurse; CRRN certification preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; ability to organize thoughts into a cohesive and logical sequence for written work; strong oral presentation skills; the ability to negotiate effectively and gain cooperation from others to ensure a common direction for the overall program; good business acumen and experience at budgeting. Ability to develop and implement programs and services to meet the diverse age, cultural, and disability issues of the expected patient population to be served, with special emphasis on geriatric concerns.
The ability to easily move about within all areas of the facility and between facilities on a regular basis; the ability to easily communicate with staff, patients, families, visitors and other professionals.
Environmental and Working Conditions
Typical office/hospital environment; must be able to travel outside the facility regularly to presentations, meetings, etc.
