Siskin Hospital staff earns specialty certification

Siskin Hospital is proud to announce that Sandy Abell, MS, OTR/L, has satisfied the requirements for the Specialty Certification in Low Vision.

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) awarded the credential, which recognizes Ms. Abell as having advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in the treatment of low vision conditions.

Ms. Abell is an occupational therapist in Siskin Hospital’s Outpatient Therapy Services clinic. She has 20 years of experience in therapy. She specializes in neurological rehabilitation and holds certifications in Electrical Stimulation and Thermal Agents. She is also a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.

“Only one percent of occupational therapists in the country have achieved the Specialty Certification in Low Vision,” said Director of Outpatient Services Natalie McDonald. “Our patients will benefit from Sandy’s targeted expertise and skill.”
