Siskin Hospital hosts Rehabilitation Consortium

October 3, 2019

Siskin Hospital is proud to host nationally-recognized leaders in physical medicine and rehabilitation for the October 3-4 biannual meeting of the 10-member Rehabilitation Consortium.

The members meet to discuss advances in the field of rehabilitative medicine and ways to improve quality of life for the ill, injured or disabled.

The two-day meeting will include topical discussions and a tour of Siskin Hospital’s downtown campus, with a demonstration of the Omeo wheelchair, a self-balancing, hands-free, off-road wheelchair that allows people to visit new places that might otherwise be inaccessible to a disabled person. The consortium is comprised of the largest, most comprehensive, not-for-profit rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S.

Along with Siskin Hospital, it includes Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida; JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, New Jersey; Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska; Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids, Michigan; MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C.; Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston; TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston; and Carolinas Healthcare in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois is also a member but representatives were unable to attend.
