Diplomate status awarded to Siskin Hospital’s Schmittdiel

Siskin Hospital is pleased to announce Dr. Charles J. Schmittdiel has achieved Diplomate status in Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
This certification is awarded by the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine and represents the highest level of qualification and competency in delivering quality behavioral sleep medicine care.
Dr. Schmittdiel is a licensed psychologist/health service provider with Siskin Hospital’s Behavioral Medicine Department. His expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, an evidence-based treatment now recognized by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American College of Physicians as a first-line treatment intervention for adults with chronic insomnia. He also has extensive experience with cognitive behavioral therapy interventions for other behavioral conditions, including anxiety and coping with chronic pain.
Dr. Schmittdiel has more than 30 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology and is the only certified behavioral sleep medicine practitioner in the Chattanooga area. He is also Certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine and is recognized by the National Register for Health Service Psychologists.
