Because of Siskin Hospital, I can climb mountains
June 18, 2013
As a tornado roared through Union University in 2008, freshman David Wilson and his friends ran for shelter when the building came crashing down around them.
Twenty-eight feet of debris trapped David for nearly five hours, leaving him with a collapsed lung and severe crush injuries to both legs.
Unable to walk or even move his legs or feet, David came to Siskin Hospital with a strong determination to walk and return to his active lifestyle. His resolve, along with his faith and family, and the care he received at Siskin Hospital, helped to make that determination a reality when he walked out the front doors only a few weeks later. But for David, walking was just the beginning.
Step by step he has returned to the activities he loves, such as snow skiing, running, and hiking through the woods with his new wife, Christen. Now enrolled in medical school, David plans to spend his life helping others, and that leaves him feeling on top of the world.
Because of Siskin Hospital, I CAN.
