Administrator, Subacute Rehabilitation Unit

Job Summary

Provides daily coordination and management for the organization’s subacute unit to ensure that high quality services are provided. Performs all functions necessary to maintain daily operation of the program, including working jointly with other Siskin Hospital departments and on admissions and intake, scheduling, delivery of care, financial and billing issues, documentation of services, program development and/or marketing of the program.

Scope of Authority / Leadership Responsibility / Reporting Relationships /Identification of Work Team

Provides on-site management for all aspects of the subacute program, including oversight supervision of staff assigned to the program from other clinical departments. Works with department directors at SHPR to resolve performance issues as they arise. Makes fiscal decisions within established budget and business plan. Reports to the Senior Vice President for all daily operating and management decisions. Works collaboratively with all involved clinical managers to ensure smooth operation of the subacute program.

Adolescent (14 – 18 years of age)
Adult (19 – 65 years of age)
Older Adult (over 65 years of age)

Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

Education
Formal education in both business and healthcare administration preferred

Experience
Minimum of five years experience within a healthcare field, with prior experience in a physical rehabilitation setting preferred; prior management experience and direct fiscal responsibility required

Licensure/Certification
Tennessee State License as Nursing Home Administrator required; current certification with ASHA required

Skills/Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; ability to organize thoughts into a cohesive and logical sequence for written work; strong oral presentation skills; the ability to negotiate effectively and gain cooperation from others to ensure a common direction for the overall program; good business acumen and experience at budgeting. Ability to develop and implement programs and services to meet the diverse age, cultural, and disability issues of the expected patient population to be served, with special emphasis on geriatric concerns.
