Dr. Jerry Smith
Dr. Smith is a graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He completed his medical degree from the University of Kentucky, School of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky. He interned at Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama and his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the Medical College of Virginia.
As a staff physician with Siskin Hospital until 2001, Dr. Smith served as the Program Director of Siskin Hospital's Stroke Program. He was also an assistant professor with the Chattanooga Unit of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine residency training program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation based at Siskin Hospital.
Dr. Smith is currently practicing at Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation where he specializes in Traumatic Brain Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation, as well as Acute and Chronic Pain Management and Workers’ Compensation Services. He performs Botox®/Myobloc® Injections for spasticity, headaches, and cervical dystonia. Dr. Smith performs Independent Medical Exams, Impairment Ratings, and treats Musculoskeletal Injuries.
Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is also a certified acupuncturist through the UCLA acupuncture course and is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Smith is the Medical Director of the SafeHaven program of the Jimmy Simpson Foundation.
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association and the Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society.
