Dr. Erwin Manalo
Dr. Manalo specializes in the treatment of patients with brain injury, general rehabilitatioon, and spasticity, including intrathecal baclofen therapy and botulinum toxin chemodenervation. He is the program director for Brain Injury at Siskin Hospital.
Dr. Manalo received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. He completed his residency at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Manalo is primary board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Brain Injury and subspecialty board-certified in Brain Injury Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Manalo was previously Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. He specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Manalo has acted as preceptor for numerous Traumatic Brain Injury and Geriatric Rehabilitation rotations.
Dr. Manalo has published on Traumatic Brain Injury, Neurology, and Endocrine Function in TBI. He has served in advisory groups with PCMH Rehab Physicians and local private practice neurologists and in various university assignments. He has also participated in REACH Teachers of Quality Academy, a cross functional team at Vidant Medical Center to improve physician patient communication and satisfaction.
