Vision Therapy

The Vision Therapy Program at Siskin Hospital helps patients adjust to and compensate for functional vision loss, and to help them regain a maximum level of safety and independence in their daily activities.
Vision loss may occur as a result of: • Macular degeneration • Diabetic neuropathy • Cataracts • Glaucoma • Visual field loss • Traumatic monocular vision loss • Ocular motor dysfunction and • Neurological deficits.
Occupational therapists specificalized in vision rehabilitation use adaptive equipment, environmental adaptation, optical aides, compensation training and ocular motor exercise to assist in the rehabilitation process.
