Pastoral Care

Siskin Hospital has a pastoral care program dedicated to nurturing the patient's spiritual life and experience the reality of God’s presence and love during this difficult time. A chaplain visits each patient after admission and in response to referrals or requests during their stay. Weekly and special occasion worship services are conducted for patients and staff. The pastoral care staff acts as a liaison between patients, family members, and their ministers.
The chapel, located on the second floor, is available 24 hours a day for personal reflection, Sunday worship services, and meetings with the pastoral care staff. The colors of the stained glass window represent spring, rebirth, hope and encouragement of Isaiah 40:31…"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint."
The office of pastoral care oversees the Peer Counselor program, a volunteer training program for people who have experienced physical disability and who want to help current Siskin Hospital patients cope.
