Because of Siskin, I can flourish again.

At 91 years old, Fred was still cutting his own grass. However, sometimes life throws unexpected challenges at us, and in Fred's case, he had to allow the grass to grow. You see, Fred had to undergo a leg amputation due to complications from diabetes. After his time at Erlanger, Fred's wife, Faye, advocated for his transfer to Siskin Hospital. Thanks to her persistence, Fred was successfully transferred to the inpatient program at Siskin Hospital.

Fred's gentle and kind smile has the power to light up a room. Despite his difficult situation, he has not allowed bitterness to take root within him. He still maintains his trust in God and believes that He is guiding his journey on this earth. He knows that someday he will be completely restored.

Faye and Fred met at church and continue to play a vital role in the life of Silverdale Baptist Church. Their legacy of love is evident in the care and prayers they receive from the congregation and their friends. While Fred may not mow the lawn again, he is experiencing personal growth that will endure for eternity. Grass can always be cut, but love will continue to flourish regardless of what challenges may arise.
